The idea behind the design of these melting LED bulbs is to remind people of how we unnecessarily waste energy. They resemble melting ice which symbolises global warming.

Leo Villareal - Volume

Over 20,000 LED nodes are suspended in a three-dimensional matrix of mirror-finished stainless steel. Controlled by a software code that the artist developed over an extensive period of time, the nodes cycle through a seemingly infinite series of patterns and movements. The piece draws the viewer into a deep, abstract space as it warps temporal and visual perception.
